Property Market
Property Market and Prospects for Real Estate Investment in Brazil

Property prices in Brazil have been rising at around 20% per year, with the Northeast in particular enjoying a boom in investments both from international real estate agencies and tourism groups. With tourism forecast to expand in the Northeast, this growth is set to increase over the next 10 years.

In the current world economic crisis, the Brazilian real estate sector offers an excellent investment opportunity. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the Brazilian economy has enjoyed over 6% of GDP growth so far this year, and that the property sector registered spectacular growth in 2007: the total number of properties sold increased by 80%.

Current opportunities for potential investors and legal and tax-related issues involved in buying property in Brazil were the theme of the seminar ‘Property Market and Prospects for Real Estate Investment in Brazil’ that took place in the Embassy at the end of 2008.
