The Domo Baal gallery hosts its first solo exhibition
by Brazilian painter Lara Viana, who graduated from the
Royal College of Art in 2007 and whose work has been
described as 'delectable yet disquieting studies for a
mental picnic'. The gallery's website (below) contains

East Central is proud to present Clarissa Cestari's
first solo show in London, an expression of art at its
most painstakingly exact. "Marsschwarz und Titanweiss /
Titanium White and Mars Black" consists of five
mono-sized and monochrome paintings and two diptychs,
as well as works on paper.

This recital, with Victor Sgarbi (baritone) and Ivan
Pires (piano) is comprised of songs and arias from
various countries and periods, combining a romantic
aesthetic, contemporary composition and technical
versatility. The programme comprises Schumann's song
cycle Liederkreis op. 24, Wagner's O du
mein holder Abendstern from Tannhäuser,
Vaughan Williams' song cycle Songs of Travel
and Antonio Carlos Jobim's Chovendo na
Roseira.

Tonight we celebrate Samba with a vibrant clash of
Samba titans, with live performances from the London
School of Samba and, all the way from Madrid, Bloco do
Baliza. Born in 2003 in effort to raise awareness of
Brazilian percussion and samba, Bloco do Baliza has
become one of the largest samba schools of Spain, both
in number of drummers and in the spectacle presented.
