Brazilian government launches invitation to tender for PR campaign
15 April 2008
The Brazilian government has published an invitation to tender for a public-relations and press campaign aimed at promoting Brazil internationally and attracting investment to the country. The tender is being conducted by the communications secretariat in the office of the President of the Republic (Secretaria de Comunicação Social – SECOM), which will judge bidders according to technical and financial criteria. The estimated value of the tender is R$15m (approx. £5m) per year, and the deadline for applications is 19 May.
It is intended that the campaign will provide SECOM with a communications structure in the United States, Europe and Asia, making companies, investors and opinion formers aware of Brazil’s potential. The aim is to show that Brazil is as an advantageous investment option for companies of all sizes, as well as for institutional investors such as pension funds.
Bidders must already be operating in Brazil, and must also have headquarters, branches, affiliated companies (or operational agreements with other agencies) in the United States, Europe and Asia. They must also be able to demonstrate previous experience of similar projects, and to provide periodic accounts.
