Brazilian senators discuss Forestry Code in London

The Brazilian senators Jorge Viana (PT, Acre) and Luiz Henrique da Silveira (PMDB, Santa Catarina) were in London on 9-10 May to discuss the new Brazilian Forestry Code. The two parliamentarians played a major role in getting the Forestry Code through Brazil's Congress, after which it was signed into law by President Rousseff in May last year. Read more

Federal programme to boost technology start-ups

The programme Startup Brasil has selected nine 'accelerator' companies which will each give direct support to between eight and ten start-ups in the area of technology. Each start-up will receive R$ 200 thousand (GBP 67 thousand). Read more

Surge in air passenger numbers
