Alistair Darling, the British Trade and Industry Secretary, is currently in Brasília as part of a three-day visit aimed at increasing trade and investment flows between Brazil and the UK.

One of the events taking place during the visit is the first meeting of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), a ministerial-led committee which has been set up in order to further improve the economic relationship between the two countries.
