Brazil sends humanitarian assistance to Haiti, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic

An aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force today left Brasília for Port-au-Prince, Santo Domingo and Managua. The aircraft is transporting medicines donated by the Brazilian Government to the victims of the floods in Nicaragua, Haiti and the Dominican Republic that were caused by Hurricane Noel.
Brazil is sending 60 medical kits (sufficient to provide emergency treatment to 30 thousand people over a period of three months), which will be divided equally between the three affected countries, and 3.3 tonnes of sodium hypochlorite for water purification, which will be shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
