São Paulo architectural project designed by London studio
22 May 2009
A scheme developed by London-based architects is about to come to fruition in the São Paulo favela community of Paraisópolis.
The São Paulo municipal authorities have approved the plans drawn up by London firm SUBdV for the new headquarters of the Paraisópolis residents' association.
The project – which featured in the exhibition RAW: New Brazilian Architecture at Gallery 32 in the summer of 2008 – includes classrooms for vocational training and adult literacy courses, a theatre, a sports area and a communal vegetable garden.
