King's College London - Multiculturalidade e Brasilidade

On 6-7 May 2010 the Brazil Institute at King's College London will be hosting Multiculturalidade & Brasilidade, a multimedia event showcasing diverse aspects of Brazilian culture.
Curated by Panorama Brasil em Movimento, the two-day event will includes an exhibition of art by Pedro Vicente Alves Pinto, screenings of documentaries about the work of Pedro Vicente Alves Pinto and rap album "Mistura Básica do Hip-Hop"; two films (Noel - Poeta da Vila and Antônia) and a roundtable debate on the theme of "Esse Nosso Olhar: A Estética Periférica no Cinema Brasileiro". There will also be the launch of three books, one by Gilberto Velho, the second by Rosana Martins, Maria Goretti Pedroso and Tabajara Novazzi Pinto and also a book by Francisco Rui Cádima.
Admission to the event is free of charge and all are welcome.
Panorama Brasil em Movimento
Panorama Brasil em Movimento (PBM) was devised and developed in 2006 at the University of São Paulo, and in the intervening years it has become a pathbreaking manifestation of Brazilian culture. An ongoing programme of debates and cultural events embracing the visual arts, music, dance and cinema, its mission is to promote flows of cooperation, to share experiences and knowledge, to convey an image of contemporary Brazil, explore new technologies, and stimulate themes for collaborative research, wherever there is potential to promote common agendas for work in the field of human rights. Panorama Brasil em Movimento (PBM) is multi-disciplinary, and its activities revolve around the following themes: citizenship, human rights, public security, language and communication.
