Brazil in the School Programme

Brazil in the Primary School for Key Stage 2 and Brazil in the School for Key Stage 3 are educational resources written by two British geography teachers, Keith Orrell and Pat Wilson, to conform to the British curriculum. These resources aim to supply teachers and students with educational material about Brazil.

Brazil in the Primary School is based on the study of the lifestyles and economic activities of two very distinctive Brazilian cities, seen through the eyes of two nine-year-old Brazilians: Isabel in Rio de Janeiro; and Kamillo in Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon.

Brazil in the School is divided into 13 sections dealing with different aspects of the country, enabling KS3 students to select the items which are relevant to their research.

Printed editions of these resources were distributed, free of charge, as packs to all secondary schools in the UK, as well as thousands of primary schools. Beside the case study booklets, they contain maps, teachers' notes, wall charts and prompt sheets with images of Brazil. Copies of either pack can still be supplied to teachers, but not to students.

Packs collected in person from the Embassy of Brazil are free. If you want us to send them to you, postage must be paid.

Please send:

  • An A4-sized, self-addressed envelope with the address of the school complete with postal code.
  • £1.30 in stamps, for the KS2 pack, or £5.68 for the KS3 pack.

Please DO NOT send money, cheques, postal orders or franked envelopes.
